Q) Do You have a minimum order?
A) No we don't! We will sell you 1 square metre if that is what you require! We have a one-off next day delivery charge of £4.99 regardless of how many metres you buy!
Q) How do I know what underlay will be the best for me?
A) We strive to give an explanation for each underlay providing their details in an easily understandable way. You can then look at them and decide which one best suits your needs. On the rubber waffle underlays generally the best are the heavier weight products. For domestic houses we recommend 100lb-130lb rubber waffle underlays, like Ball&Young ‘Amber’. This product is not over specified for domestic needs but at the same time is more than adequate to be placed anywhere in the house and offers fantastic comfort and durability.
Q) Do I have to have the same underlay through out my house?
A) In a word ‘no’! We would advise it, as your carpets will wear differently. The better the underlay the longer and better your carpet will wear. Underlay is critically important to your carpet; the carpet is only as good as your underlay. However you can get away
Q) How can you be so much cheaper than everyone else?
A) The reason for this is simple! We do not have the high overheads of a retail outlet. We only sell underlay and accessories so we buy huge quantities from the manufacturer and receive big discounts that enable us to pass this discount on to our customers. The other reason is that in the competitive market of carpet retail they have to reduce the prices of the carpet to such an extent that they rely on the underlay and accessories to boost their profits to cover the lack of profit on the carpet. For far too long the carpet retailers have charged hugely inflated prices on underlay and accessories and they have hidden the prices in overall quotes including the carpet and fitting, now you have a choice!
Q) How do I know your payment process is secure?
A) This is the most important issue for us!!! If our customers are not safe to buy from Our site then they do not buy from us again, which we cannot afford to let happen. We rely on customers being happy with the price and especially our service, that is why we use Barclay’s banks epdq system. They have taken the time to make payment over the Internet as safe and risk free as possible and we trust them, so you can trust us!
Q) How do I know how much underlay I need?
A) Simply measure the longest point of your room in metres and then measure the widest point of your room in metres. You then multiply the length by the width and that will give you the square metre measurement. For hall stairs and landings we advise you ask the square metre size from the shop you are buying or have bought the carpet from. Or you could ask the person you are getting to fit your carpets and then work out how many bags you need based on the square metres in the bag you are buying.
Q) What is the best underlay for noise reduction?
A) We would definitely suggest Tredaire ‘Dreamwalk’. There are very good underlay’s for this but in our professional opinion this underlay is one of, if not the best for noise reduction.
Q) I would like an underlay with a high tog rating for insulation, what would you recommend?
A) We recommend either ‘Dreamwalk’ or ‘Softwalk’ from Tredaire. They offer fantastic comfort under foot and have unbelievable insulation due to their high tog rating.
Q) Luxury and comfort are a must what underlay best fulfils that criteria?
A) We would advise you go for Tredaire ‘Dreamwalk’. At 11mm it is one of the thickest most comfortable underlays available. It continues to be the number one choice on the market.
Q) What underlay should I have for a concrete floor?
A) We would suggest one of the either Tredaire Dreamwalk or Softwalk or step 100, Ball&young ‘Amber’ or one of the Cloud 9 range. ‘Cloud 9’/’Softwalk’ and ‘Dreamwalk’ all have high tog ratings ideal for concrete floors.
Q) What underlay should I have for under floor heating?
A) There are a few on the market but we would suggest Ball&Young ‘Roma’. This is a rubber waffle underlay, which is designed for under floor heating. It has a low tog value with comfort underfoot and durability.
Q) What is the difference between blown rubber and rubber crumb?
A) Crumb rubber is quite literally rubber crumbs bonded together and made from recycled rubber. Crumb rubber is extremely durable and offers fantastic stability but this can come at a cost as you sometimes lose some comfort. Blown rubber is similar to foam but is made of rubber, this offers more comfort than crumb rubber.
